Musical Men and Chelsea

Marty Motola and Todd Cecil, two great music men big influences in my music so far.
Marty has produced and co-produced a lot of tracks. Todd and I have been on the road together, played tons of Nashville gigs, where he assists me on the mandolin.
Chelsea Payne has been accompanying me on the piano a lot in my latest live shows. [And recently some percussion and back-up vocals]

Live Music Audiences

The sweet Nele came all the way from Belgium with her sister to be at the show in Eindhoven. What a pleasure. It's such a nice thing to have people show up specifically to see/hear me play. It's quite an honour. I've played too many empty rooms [still happens..;)] that you really learn to appreciate an audience.
Sometimes a small audience is good, better than a large one.. it all depends on the atmosphere, the energy. I guess you could play a song to 3 people [scary.. ! ] and have a phenomenal audience or play to 300 [much less scary somehow..] and not feel like you really connect.

Optimaal FM

At Radio Optimaal FM with Willem Van Der Veur. Dank je , Willem! 3 songs and a little interview, this show felt particularly relaxed to me, i had a great time playing! And the scenery in this part of Holland is amazing. Green, lush, mellow.. just 10 km from the German border. I love that about Europe, 1.5 hour drive and you're in another country, language, culture, food, etc.. very cool.

Nashville show

I'm back in Nashville. Quite happy to be, even though it's always sort of sad to leave Holland...
But, a new show is coming up, songs to be written, lots to prepare for the new album, the key is staying active. [and taking sweet time to enjoy doing absolutely nothing ;) ] I've been waiting to go see this movie 'La Mome' about Edith Piaf's life. [ the sparrow, i think it's called in English] and it finally came out in Nashville!

A new Album

Saturday night i played the last show of the Dutch solo tour in Eindhoven. That same afternoon i was a guest at Tros Muziek Cafe which was a great experience, everybody there was so sweet! And thanks to all who came out to support, it's great to play a live radio show as it were a gig, with an audience and the ambience of a club.

Now, some wonderful news: I'm going to record a new album!! This is going to happen in Holland with AGMusic in Alkmaar. Very exciting news, more details will follow, but as it looks now, a cd should be out early fall [or late, late summer... ]

Thank you, Dank jullie wel, merci to everyone who's come out to a show, played me on the radio, helped arrange things, bought a cd, encouraged in any way, it was an amazing little trip! :)

Tros Muziek Cafe

Saturday , July 7th i'll be a guest in Tros Muziek Cafe on Radio 2 , it's going to be broadcasted live from the Panama in Amsterdam, the show starts at 16:00 and goes on untill 18:00.
Today i played a few songs and gave an interview at Radio West and Radio M. Both lovely stations, lovely people. I'll be posting some pictures soon!

Chez Rene was my second radio interview/ performance after Giel Beelen's show in Haarlem, which was also a pleasure.
